Analytical Method for Travelling Wave Protection Setting of HVDC Transmission Line

直流线路行波暂态过程存在色散衰减、双极耦合等问题,导致故障量难以解析;保护装置采样具有随机性,进一步增加了判据特征量定量计算的难度,因此行波保护仍缺乏统一、有效的整定方法。从选择性、灵敏性要求出发分析了行波保护整定需求,针对关键故障位置建立了可用于整定计算的故障量解析模型。为消除保护采样随机性,提出了保护判据特征量解析计算方法。最后结合保护特征量随过渡电阻、雷击扰动幅值变化的特性曲线求取保护定值,该定值具有最优的抗过渡电阻能力和抗雷击扰动能力。与实际直流线路保护定值及保护边界的对比分析验证了所提解析整定方法的有效性。

Some problems exist in travelling wave transient process of HVDC transmission line, such aschromatic dispersion attenuation and bipolar coupling, makingit difficult to analyze fault quantities. In addition, protection device sampling is stochastic,further increasingdifficulty of quantitative analysis of criterion characteristic parameters. Therefore, a unified and effective setting method isabsentin travelling wave protection. Thispaper analyzeddemand of travelling wave setting from perspective of selectivity and sensitivity, and establisheda fault quantity analytical model for setting calculation based on key fault locations. In order to eliminate protection samplingrandomness, an analytical calculation method of criterion characteristic parameterswas proposed. According to characteristic curve demonstrating characteristic parameterchangesdue totransition resistances and lightning disturbances, protection settingwas calculated. This setting hasextraordinary abilityagainsttransition resistance and lightning disturbance. Comparative analysisof protection setting of actual HVDC transmission line and protection boundary verifiedvalidityoftheproposed analytical setting method.
